BIAW Education Program
The BIAW Education Program is an award-winning, comprehensive program supporting the needs and requests of BIAW members. BIAW is committed to helping you advance the depth and breadth of your professional experience. Whether you’re looking to enhance your technical and professional knowledge in new technology, business strategies, marketing techniques, management skills, or constantly-evolving consumer demand, the BIAW Education Program offers a wide range of options. BIAW continues to add new programs, timely seminars and industry workshops on important builder issues. BIAW Certified Builder

Current Issues
BIAW offers seminars and workshops addressing current issues affecting the homebuilding industry, such as: Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead (CESCL); building code updates; contracts; warranties; lien laws; green building; and, homeowner maintenance, to name a few.

CPR / First Aid
Master Builders Association Pierce County hosts a Medic First Aid course that includes assessment of airway, breathing and circulation techniques, use of protective barriers, and automated external defibrillation training. Not only does this course meet state requirements, it also includes “Hands On” CPR exercises. Certification is valid for 2 years. The course is also approved for Electrical and Plumbing CEU Credits.
Fees / Admission Member Rate: $65.00, Non-Member Rate: $75.00

GRIP Claims 101™
GRIP Claims 101 will inform you of the latest developments at L&I and, even more importantly, teach you what you need to do when you have a claim. Your active participation in resolving claim issues will ultimately lower your risk rating and save your company money. Savings on L&I premiums helps make you more competitive in the marketplace when you bid for projects. Each GRIP participant is required to attend Claims 101™ at least once. Repeat attendance is welcome and encouraged. Class size is limited. GRIP Claims 101™ Classes are also held in Bellevue (at the MBA of King & Snohomish Offices), Seattle, Lacey, Everett, Spokane and Vancouver. ROII – ABC’s of Claims Management
As a condition of enrollment in ROII all member participants are required to attend this class. Failure to take this class could affect your enrollment in the program. We request the company owner or person(s) responsible for hiring personnel and/or return to work/hiring decisions attend the class. Attendees will learn how a proactive approach to claims management can improve your bottom line. This information-packed, interactive, one and one-half to two-hour class will teach you effective ways to close claims quickly and what you can do to prevent a work place injury.
