Master Builders Association of Pierce County presents a Diaper Drive

Members of the Master Builders Association of Pierce County are always looking for ways to give back and help support our community. Even with the tough circumstances of 2020, our members have found ways to step up. They’ve generously provided N95 masks and meals for frontline healthcare workers, and also donated school supplies to local students in need.

If you are looking for more ways to give this holiday season, we are extending the opportunity to support the Metropolitan Development Council (MDC) with their Diaper Drive.

Did you know that one in three families in America don’t have enough diapers to keep their babies (and toddlers) clean, dry, and healthy? That’s a staggering number. Imagine that you have a young family and 6 months ago you were let go from your job due to COVID-19? Due to the economical strain of COVID-19 and job loss, many of the families have to dry and reuse disposable diapers. According to the Center for Economic and Policy Research, the poorest 20% of Americans with children in diapers spend 14% of their post-tax income on diapers.

Families are facing crisis, and that’s where Master Builders Association of Pierce County members can help. MDC has asked our membership to support them by purchasing a box of diapers in any size for the 24 Hour Homeless Family Shelter that they operate in Tacoma.
