On Saturday, April 27, Rebuilding Together South Sound hosted more than 650 volunteers to complete 27 major home repair and safety modification projects throughout the South Sound on National Rebuilding Day. One of those homes was sponsored by Master Builders Association of Pierce County (Master Builders Association of Pierce County) and York Enterprises.
Master Builders Association of Pierce County is a trade association representing housing and the residential construction industry and is always looking to support its community in Pierce County. On Rebuilding Day, Master Builders Association of Pierce County had over 30 volunteers that completed several projects that included kitchen floor replacement, tub replacement, repairing a front porch, yardwork and more.
National Rebuilding Day engages volunteers in a concerted effort to complete repairs on homes, nonprofit facilities and community spaces to bring immediate, transformational change to communities across America on the same day.100% of the homeowners served are below 50% of Area Median Income.
Throughout April, Rebuilding Together affiliates nationwide and volunteers will serve veterans, older adults, and low-income families with children and victims of disaster by providing them with a variety of critical home repairs, including: flooring repairs and replacement, weatherization repairs, roof and handrail replacements, accessibility modifications, painting, landscaping and other major home rehabilitations. The repairs are provided free of charge to the homeowners who, often faced with diminishing resources, must choose food and medicine over critical home repairs — choices that, over time, can lead to crumbling foundations, dangerously sagging roofs and windows and doors that can’t be securely shut.
Again, thank you to our generous volunteers!
