Notice for builders and developers
Please be advised of our revised electric line extension costs and margin allowance amounts when we extend and modify our electric distribution facilities, effective November 1, 2018.
On August 9, 2018, the Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission authorized updated costs for service lines, line extensions, and transformation charges, as well as a different margin allowance methodology that aligns with our natural gas line extension allowance approach.
These changes will not affect projects with agreements already in place or under construction prior to November 1, 2018.
The overall cost to a builder includes the refund of margin allowance after full build-out of the plat. The builder must apply for the refund after the completion of any permanent service connections within the plat within five years from the initial construction.
